Care Guide
There's nothing quite like receiving a fresh bouquet — and a little care goes a long way in making that feeling last. Here's what we recommend to get the most out of your Feeling Floral arrangement.
1. Unwrap and trim as soon as they arrive
Remove any packaging so the flowers can breathe. Using clean, sharp scissors, trim about 2cm off each stem at an angle so they can absorb water easily.
2. Use a clean vase with fresh water
Bacteria are one of the biggest reasons flowers wilt early. Start with a clean vase and fresh, room-temperature water.
3. Change the water every two days
Refresh the water completely every couple of days, giving the vase a quick rinse each time to prevent bacterial build-up.
4. Remove submerged leaves
Any leaves sitting below the waterline should be removed — they break down quickly and shorten the life of your bouquet.
5. Keep them out of direct sunlight and heat
Choose a cool spot out of direct sun and away from heating vents, appliances, or fruit bowls (ripening fruit releases ethylene gas, which speeds up wilting).
6. Re-trim every few days
If your flowers start to droop, give the stems a fresh trim every 2-3 days to re-open the stem for better water absorption.
With good care, most fresh bouquets from Feeling Floral will stay looking beautiful for 5-7 days, with some varieties like orchids and chrysanthemums lasting even longer. Because we source fresh, seasonal blooms daily from Melbourne's flower markets, you're starting with the best possible base for a long-lasting arrangement.
